Caroline Chin: Underwriter, Take1

Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: cchin@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Not many people would regard Friday 13th as their lucky day, but Caroline does. That was the day she first stepped foot into our office and realized she needed to be a part of the energetic Lighthouse team. Caroline joined the Take1 program after graduating in 2005 from James Madison University with a degree in Finance and Business Law. She is an active member of the Alumni Association and claims to bleed purple and has decorated her desk with numerous pictures of her and her fellow Dukes (she even has one of her and the mascot). The self appointed social director of the office, Caroline likes to drag us away from work to do various things like rock climbing and the occasional happy hour. She is even contemplating giving us paintball guns at our next outing..YIKES.
Tim Clark: Chief Financial Officer, Lighthouse Underwriters, LLC
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 352
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: tclark@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Someone needed to provide adult supervision for the Lighthouse
frat house -- that's Tim's job. Among the more "seasoned" of the
folks here, he brings to us a worldly view and wry sense of humor
tempered with a frequently raised eyebrow. A call from Tim can be
like a trip to the principal's office, so we try to behave. Tim
has been a management consultant, corporate financial advisor, securities
analyst, and commercial banker--sometimes all at once--and ran a
company in the education lending business. Between commutes, he
finds time to be a father of two rebellious teenagers and husband
to "she who must be obeyed." In addition to his financial duties,
Tim helps us with new ventures and planning for future growth. He
holds an MBA from "Mr. Jefferson's University" in Charlottsville
(UVA, for you non-Virginians.)
Andy Cooley: Program Director, NonProfits
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 305
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: acooley@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Andy Cooley graduated with honors from James Madison University in 1997. Since that time, he has been working exclusively with nonprofit organizations and their specific coverage needs. Andy has earned the insurance professional designation of AAI (Accredited Advisor in Insurance) and CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor). In his free time, Andy used to enjoy taking to the skies with his newly obtained Pilots License (Everyone at Lighthouse has taken out substantial life insurance policy on Andy). However, free time is much harder to find these days as Andy and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their second child – a beautiful baby girl. She and her 3 year old brother now reign supreme with the remote control – evening television viewing now consists of "Baby Einstein" and “Dragon Tales”. Andy is also quite the competitor. As a former rugby player, Andy adds a unique physical contact dimension when playing Racquetball and Tennis with his coworkers.
Steve Danielson:
Broker Development Executive
E-mail: sdanielson@lighthouseunderwriters.com
As one of Lighthouse's "Elder-Statesmen", Steve travels extensively visiting our wonderful agents in the states of FL, MO, TN, KS, and AR. Joining Lighthouse in 2003, Steve comes from an independent agency background (being a previous agency owner) he still struggles with trying to view life from the 'company' side of the coin, rather than an agent..thus much of his free time is consumed with his psychiatrist (but shhhhh, no one needs to know). Graduating from a small Iowa college and spending the majority of his adulthood in the Midwest, he and his wife (plus dogs, cats, et al) moved to sunny Florida in 2004..hey somebody has to do it, right?
Jeff Darling: Program Director, Take1

Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: jdarling@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Well, where do we begin with Jeff? He's an ex-surfer (poser!) who
moved to Northern Virginia from Manhattan Beach, CA. While in California
he met a beautiful girl. She agreed (for what reason we'll never
know) to spend the rest of her life with him. Keep in mind, at the
time he had longish, ok, very long hair (picture proof available
upon request.think Fabio meets Jim Carey). Though we question her
taste, she got him out of California and over to Northern Virginia
where, soon after, we snagged him from one of our prestigious carrier
partners (that's for you Chubb. and can you believe Chubb hired
him with long hair? Does that sound like the Chubb you and I know?).
He and his wife have a 3-year-old son, Max, who is the largest toddler
you'll ever meet, but cute as can be. Jeff and his family enjoy
quiet weekends at home and, of course, toddler boxing at the local
bar.Max is 10 and 0. Oh come on, I'm kidding. Jeff's been with us
for 3 years now, and we've seen him go from a racket throwing hot-head
to a contributing team member (sort of). What a few years of maturity
can do to a fellow!
Aaron DiCaprio: Program Director, StaffPak
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 345

Aaron DiCaprio has been with Lighthouse Underwriters for over two years. He previously worked as an Employment Consultant for a national PEO and practiced employment law and insurance defense litigation in Washington, DC. Aaron is a member of both the Maryland and District of Columbia bar associations and a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and Eastern Connecticut State University. In his spare time, Aaron can be found on the baseball diamond trying to re-live his glory days.
Dustin Eils: New Business Underwriter, ElderCare
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 351
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: deils@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Graduating with a Finance and Economics degree from Rockhurst University
in 2003, Dustin soon decided to leave the comforts of the Midwest
and move to Virginia to work for the Lighthouse Underwriters, LLC (little
did he know what he was getting himself into). Although Dustin seems
to have the all around masculine midwestern boy image, (good old
Kansas City boy raised strictly on a diet consisting of meat and
potatoes) get him on the golf course and you will see his true colors.
Purple that is - after leaving his old golf bag behind in Kansas
City he currently carries his golf clubs around in his girlfriend's
lavender and purple golf bag. But the femininity doesn't stop there;
Dustin's other passions include dressing up like a woman for Halloween
(we have the pictures to prove it) and shaking his tail feather
on the dance floor! Deadly combination when you are trying to maintain
a masculine image
don't you think?
Saye Gbalazeh: Program Director, ElderCare
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 308
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: sgbalazeh@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Voted best dressed guy at Lighthouse, Quiet and unassuming, Saye
joined Lighthouse Underwriters, LLC in 2000. Ready for the next challenge,
he obtained a LLB from the University of Liberia and a MBA from
the College of Insurance in New York, New York. (He is not one to
brag
we research his background on the net). Saye has worked
for many impressive companies in New York and DC and did his penance
while employed as an Underwriting Supervisor for the Maryland Insurance
Fund. While growing up in Liberia, Saye enjoyed the school band
(you don't admit this in America), playing soccer and basketball
no
way, the guy is 5'8" at best. Saye loves the company of genuine
friends, eating at restaurants, and watching sports. He has three
children, so no matter what you throw at him, he'll take you on.
Sean Gormley: Chief Operating Officer & Vice President of LHU
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 302
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: sgormley@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Sean Gormley has been married for over 10 years to his beautiful
wife, has two beautiful little girls, and lives in Annandale, Virginia.
As an English major in college, he has absolutely no working knowledge
of math or numbers, so please double check all of his figures. Having
been told by his six year old that she wants horses and a farm within
the next few years, you will most likely find him camped out in
his office at all hours in order to maximize his overtime pay. His
hobbies include the occasional whuppin' on his co-workers in racquetball,
mountain biking, golf and all other manly pursuits. All of his spare
time is spent in defense of the Manly way of life, as his house
is full of women (his wife, two daughters and their female dog).
Sarah Horn: Accounting Associate
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 340
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: shorn@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Sarah is the newest member of the accounting "gals". Coming to us from Mary Baldwin, an all women's college in southern Virginia, she fits right in as we are trying to balance the testosterone vs. estrogen levels in the office. As a psychology major, Sarah never knew that excel was anything more than a screen with lines..who knew??? But we trust her to pay the bills, so we'll keep her! She also makes a great source if you want an in-depth analytical outlook of any Lighthouse associates.
Sahar Granholm: Asst. VP of Operations
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 315
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: sjavan@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Sahar, who thinks she is a Princess, is our Director of Marketing.
Art originally hired her because of her attitude
demanding,
persistent and tough. He has not been disappointed. Sahar is always
a hit at our trade shows; especially in Vegas where she has been
known to spend the night at the Black Jack table. A tough negotiator,
(flirt), she makes advertising vendors weak in the knees when they
hear its Sahar Javan on line 2.
Kevin Kariuki: Renewal Underwriter, StaffPak
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 350
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: kkariuki@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Having gone to a Christian college in Harrisonburg, VA and raised as an only child in the family, the StaffPak team was worried that Kevin (naturally known for his quiet temperament) was going to be in for a culture shock. No such worries - It's easy to fit in at Lighthouse when you are a sports fanatic (especially if you think SportsCenter is the best show on TV). Whether it's playing or watching sports, there is enough male energy in the office that it's impossible for even the most reserved individual to keep their opinions about football (go Eagles!) and golf (can anyone really compare to Tiger Woods) to themselves. Never thinking he would be working in the insurance industry (who ever does?), Kevin seems to be thriving as the new Renewal Underwriter for StaffPak. He may love it so far, but has anyone warned him about the 1/1 renewals???
Eyerusalem Kelemwork: Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 301
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: ekelemwork@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Eyerusalem joined the Lighthouse Support Group as the lead receptionist way back in December of 2003. Every time you call Lighthouse we know you have got to be wondering where she's from and where she gets her beautiful accent, well wonder no more.Eyerusalem is originally from Ethiopia. However, Eyerusalem wants everyone to know that she is a proud citizen of the USA by choice! In her spare time you'll find Eyerusalem trying to steal her sons Game Boy so she can try to beat his high score at Sonic Adventures.
Ron Klassen: Renewal Underwriter, StaffPak
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 311
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: rklassen@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Originally hailing from the great state of Kansas, Ron moved out to Virginia to attend college and decided he loved Northern Virginia so much he wanted to stay. Plus he lost his little red slippers & could not get home. After a long day of renewing policies and answering to pages for "The Pickle", Ron can be found late at night at the local grocery store making a purchase to suffice his wife's food cravings. Ron was married in June of 2004 and this high flying newlywed will be a first time Dad in August of 2005. In his free time Ron likes to perfect the man's ideal physique and thoroughly enjoy his wife's good cooking.
Jimmy Kokkinis: Renewal Underwriter, NonProfits

Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: jkokkinis@lighthouseunderwriters.com
NonProfits add another Terps fan to the department (we think that's how he got the job). Graduating from the University of Maryland - College Park, Jimmy joined Lighthouse in May 2005 as the Renewal Underwriter for the NonProfits division. Having been raised by a mom who is an insurance agent, Jimmy swore that when he grew up he would move to Greece, buy a Greek Isle and name it after himself. Once that dream subsided, he decided to follow in his mom's footsteps - knowing just how much fun insurance can be. Besides, he gets a kick out of being the best dressed guy in NonProfits, showcasing his Diesel jeans and Lacoste shirts on casual Fridays makes it all worthwhile.
Matthew McWilliams: Underwriter, Take1
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 328
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: mmcwilliams@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Matthew McWilliams has been living in the Arlington area for just over two years now following his graduation from Washington & Lee University in the spring of 2003. Having recently joined Lighthouse Underwriters, Matt has been enjoying his "newbie" status in the Take1 program where he shares the joys of renewal underwriting with his co-workers. Aside from his signature pink shirts, Matt is most well known for his incredible lack of athletic ability (he's 6'5" and he can't dunk a basketball!).
Emily Pozinsky: Creative Director
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 335
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: epozinsky@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Emily joined the Lighthouse team in 2003 as a freelance graphic designer and was also put in charge of organizing StaffPak renewals; once we realized her obsession with organization and talent as a designer- the powers that be knew she would be an irreplaceable part of the Marketing team. Emily also has an obsession with music and movies, just mention The Red Hot Chili Peppers or Cinema Paradiso and she'll be your friend. She can also quote most of the movie "Overboard" . "I like it when she goes buh buh buh buh" (some might even think she has a slight case of obsessive-compulsive behavior). If you don't believe us, ask her to see pictures of her chocolate lab, James Bond, or her cat, Pussy Galore. Obsessed may not be the right word - maybe fanatical is better!
Libby Rivas: Support Team Associate
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 321
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: lrivas@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Libby is the most reserved and possibly the quietest member of our Support Group. Joining Lighthouse 4 years ago, you will nearly never notice when she is at her desk - maybe it's her shy demeanor or simply her petite frame. Yes, even she will take advantage of it especially if it can get her into an amusement park for ½ price. Libby moved from beautiful Southern California to Northern Virginia and when asked why…her response is simple “Lighthouse is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me!”

Success is affording to embarrass yourself in private
private
yoga lessons that is. So says Art Seifert, Founder, President and
CEO of the Lighthouse Underwriters, LLC. After years of trying to out muscle
five boys/men ages 24, 22, 21, 20 and 17, Art has turned to flexibility
and quickness. With sons at USD, SMU, Denison, Lafayette and SSSA
, Art and his dishy wife Susie spend a lot of time traveling
and
writing checks
do all boys have disappearing cell phones? To
help fund education expenses you can send a check to Arts
home on the Outer Banks.
Cy Seifert:
Broker Development Executive
E-mail: cseifert@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Cy started his insurance career in 1950....1950! Having a vast history in sales prepared him well for becoming an agency owner in Mansfield, MA. Deciding that it was time for a change in 1998, he sold his agency and took a long needed break. While Cy enjoys boating, there is only so much time you can spend on the water, Cy decided to take down sail and gradually got back into the industry selling insurance in the Boothbay Harbor area where he summers. Art, you know Art Seifert (President of Lighthouse) called him to come over to the wholesale side of the business in 2002. Little did Art know what he was asking for when he asked his own father to join the Lighthouse team (we still think he is kicking himself for that one).
Venecia Snaith: Underwriting Service Associate, ElderCare
Phone: 703 770-3700 ext. 330
Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: vsnaith@lighthouseunderwriters.com
From time to time, you may hear Venecia go off in her native Jamaican lingo (mostly when she is upset) but for the most part she is a fun loving person. Venecia joined the Eldercare team in October 2004 with 5 years experience in the insurance industry; proving to indeed be an asset to the division. Never afraid to speak her mind and voice her opinions (always proving her point that she is, and will always be right), her coworkers always go to her with questions to their problems expecting an extremely straight and impartial answer.
Peter Stanislaw: Program Director, PLPros

Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: pstanislaw@lighthouseunderwriters.com
Peter Stanislaw heads up our professional liability department.
Prior to Lighthouse, he spent his insurance career on the retail
side of the insurance business as a producer and agency owner in
Upstate New York. We think he must have had a mid life crisis; instead
of buying a Porsche he found a new wife, sold his agency and moved
to the wholesale side of the business in sunny Virginia. During
his agency years he wrote personal lines and commercial lines with
an emphasis on workers compensation and professional liability.
His particular area of interest and expertise is Professional Liability.
Peter enjoys golf, skiing, bicycling, rowing and will soon venture
onto the racquetball courts to take on the other directors (mind
you he has never touched a racquetball racquet in his life!!!).
He is happily married with six children, ranging from 4 to 21.
Stephanie Zehr: Chief Compliance Officer

Fax: 703 770-3720
E-mail: szehr@lighthouseunderwriters.com
The mother of three children, Stephanie follows the beat of her own drum. She is best know around the office for her short skirts, the click, click, click of her stiletto heels when she's chasing down a producer to discuss a Surplus Lines issue (happens more often than one would think), and her Barbie doll / Action figure collections. Yes, you heard correctly….this grown woman still plays with dolls, designs diorama scenes, and creates chapter stories for them too! If you just ask her, she will be more than willing to share her favorite doll websites with you.
